Productivity improvement and the role of trade unions

November 2015 | English

The ILO has been playing a critical role in sensitizing workers on the benefits of productivity improvements. Developed in the context of regional training workshops in Africa jointly organized by the ILO’s Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) and JTUC/RENGO, this Workers’ Education Manual is expected to facilitate the exchange of ideas amongst trade unionists on the role of workers’ organization on productivity improvement and its implications on international labour standards, employment creation, improving wages and enhancing collective bargaining.
