Decent work for All: Pathways to Sustainable Development
Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is proud to host a pivotal session at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at UN Headquarters in New York to assess progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and turn commitment into action.
IOSH will convene a high-level dialogue on the critical role of occupational safety and health in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth together with United Nations Global Compact International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI) European Youth Forum and ICOH.
With just five years remaining to achieve the 2030 Agenda, Sustainable Development Goal 8—focused on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, decent work for all and a safe and healthy working environment—is significantly off track.
This shortfall demands immediate and coordinated policy action.
Accelerating progress on SDG 8 is not only a moral imperative—it is essential for building resilient economies and inclusive societies.
