Research publication for responsible business conduct and decent work: Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Supply Chains Asia (RISSC) in Thailand
March 2024 | English | Thai, japanese
The ILO-Japan RISSC project was implemented to advance decent work and promote responsible business conduct (RBC) in selected global supply chains: (i) automotive manufacturing in Thailand, (ii) electronics manufacturing in Indonesia, and (iii) aquaculture in the Philippines. The project conducted research and analysis to identify decent work gaps and opportunities, developed industry tools and guidance to improve business practices in these supply chains, and provided strategic advice to governments to help meet emerging supply chain expectations and build enabling policies for responsible business.
This research study provides an in-depth analysis of Thailand's automotive manufacturing supply chain and its status vis-à-vis decent work and responsible business conduct, particularly in the evolving context of global requirements for human rights due diligence. Moreover, the study covers the identification and assessment of key forces and trends impacting the sector, while scrutinizing existing and anticipated challenges within the industry concerning decent work and responsible conduct.
