Our governance arrangements
Governance arrangements
The Coalition’s governance arrangements, led by a Coordinating Group, reflects a commitment to inclusive participation and engagement.
Participation in the Coalition is voluntary and open to a wide array of partners including governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, international organisations and bodies, regional organisations and bodies, enterprises and business networks, international non-governmental organizations, and academia.
With hundreds of partners , the Coalition is currently the largest and fast-growing coalition in the UN and multilateral system.
The Global Coalition for Social Justice operates under a light, inclusive, and clearly delineated governance structure that fully respects the constitutional mandates and decision-making processes of all partners. Operational contributions remain entirely under the authority of each partner, who determines the nature and scope of its engagement in the Coalition.
A Coordinating Group plays an advisory role, facilitating dialogue, alignment, and coordination among partners, without encroaching on existing governance or decision-making frameworks.
A dedicated Secretariat ensures day-to-day coordination and supports the implementation of agreed activities.
Annual Forum
The Annual Forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice is the Coalition’s flagship annual gathering, bringing together all partners to provide a high-level, inclusive space to exchange on key social justice challenges, share experiences and identify concrete, collaborative solutions aligned with the Coalition’s objectives.
It serves as a catalyst for collective commitments, peer learning and policy innovation, reinforcing the Coalition’s role as a platform that moves beyond dialogue towards coordinated action and measurable impact.

Reporting and Accountability
The Coalition’s progress and results are documented and shared through a constellation of existing and complementary reporting channels. These include the Coalition’s Annual Forum, the ILO Programme and Budget and Decent Work Country Programmes, the United Nations Development Assistance Framework, and other relevant partner mechanisms.
By anchoring reporting within established processes, the Coalition promotes transparency and ensures coherence across institutional frameworks.
